Each v20 member works with v for a year and we are now looking forward to our next group, who are about to start! Our new v20 were selected following a national recruitment campaign in January (adverts for v20 places were featured in The Voice, Big Issue, Guardian Society, NME among others) and interviews in March. The recruitment process was managed by our outgoing v20 group, to ensure that young people could hand on the baton to their peers. The new v20 will be taking up their positions from April 14th and will be out and about making sure that young people across England have their chance to feed into our work. |
v20 does this is in a number of different ways:
- Residentials (8 per year)
- Youth led projects
- Electronically via Email / text message consultation
- Champions (where they pair up with staff teams)
- Meetings / focus groups on different topics
- Four are members of the vtrustee board

Over the last year, v20 members have:
- Helped to brand v
- Developed the volunteering portal - vinspired.com
- Developed vcashpoint - a youth fund that gives young people the chance to apply for up to £2500 to run a community project
- Organised a parliamentary reception
- Taken part in a number of different consultations and projects on v's work (from vision and objectives for v to grants decision making panels, selecting marketing materials to staff recruitment)
- Represented v at conferences, events, review panels (including the Cabinet Office Review of the Third Sector, and the Commission for the Future of Volunteering)
- Ran ‘Outside the Box’ sessions in youth clubs and projects
- Undergone a number of different training courses; both as a group and individuals
- Carried out the recruitment of new v20
